23d Annual Bill Yarlott Youth Fishing Derby

The 23d Annual Bill Yarlott Youth Fishing Derby is on April 27. Free Admission Pancake Breakfast at 10 a.m., Cascade Lake Shelter Fish Measured at 11 a.m., rain or shine.

Bill Yarlott, an 87-year-old fishing enthusiast who was instrumental in stocking Cascade Lake with Kokanee Salmon and Rainbow trout, passed away in 2015. Thanks to his efforts and this community coming together it continues.

The Bill Yarlott Youth Fishing Derby has continued with the generous help of Orcas Outfitters, Island Market, King’s Market, Orcas Adventures and our new sponsor Ray’s Pharmacy.

Yarlott’s legacy continues through the Bill Yarlott Youth Fishing Derby where the passion for fishing, learning about the species of trout in our local lakes, encouraging children to pick up a pole all come together in this one annual event.

Orcas Adventures is honored to once again host this annual event that is fueled by the simple love of fishing. This is a community event, and they encourage you to host your immediate family, extended family, friend’s kids, or any child who might want to participate.

“Let’s celebrate Cascade Lake’s incredible bounty, nature, and a time-honored tradition together,” say organizers.
