The Island Lights Festival was a huge success this year and so many people contributed to this!

The San Juan Island Chamber of Commerce partnered with the Whale Museum, Island Rec, Brickworks, the Animal Protection Society, the San Juan Islands Agricultural Guild and Kyle Nicholson, Mark Gardner, Angel Michaels and the Island Chordsmen Plus, Joshua Boland and the Elementary School Choir and of course Santa Claus. The weather held, the community came to all the festivities and it was truly a beautiful night.

There was something for all – ornament making and beautiful treats at the Whale Museum, caroling with the choirs, crafts with Island Rec, a visit with Santa and pictures with him, great local food prepared by Kyle and his crew of helpers and a giving tree for the Animal Protection Society.

Thank you Jenny Atkinson, Maddie Ovenell, Amy Plant, Leslie Byron – I was proud to work with such an amazing group of executive directors!The Town of Friday Harbor did an awesome job on the tree and it was great to have Mike Goff there as our go to guy. Thank you to Dave Smith for ensuring all would work beforehand, too!
