Life Care Center staff say farewell | Letter

As 2017 comes to a close, so too does the Life Care Center of the San Juan Islands. The year 2018 would have marked the 50th year anniversary that the care facility had been in operation. From the Carter’s vision and inception of the Convalescent Center in 1968 through the last 20 years as the Life Care Center, this care facility has served generations of islanders in multiple capacities as patients, families, employees and volunteers.

It is with heartfelt sadness that we, the last group of employees of the Life Care Center say goodbye to you, the San Juan Islands community.

We also want to thank you for 50 years of community support. It would take the entire paper to recognize the specific groups and individuals who have contributed significantly of their time and resources to make a difference in the lives of those residents and employees who lived and worked at this care facility. You can know that through your acts of kindness, you have enriched and changed the lives of those you have touched.

We are thankful and feel blessed to have had the opportunity to serve this community. We also look forward to being an active part of the change in exploring new options for ongoing care.
