Some compliments for the Fourth of July parade: Thank you Pirates for always going whole-hog on your creative floats, you never disappoint! Secondly, the farmers market group had so much energy and spirit and down-home authenticity, which is what Friday Harbor is all about! And add to the mix the Friday Harbor Labs, who used what they had and exploded the music of bull kelp. I loved it!

My only suggestion is that we need to join with the great cleanup crew after the parade and make our streets pre-parade spotless. The candy, coffee cups and trash made me think I may have to organize some wild and crazy “street walkers” for a finale! Watch out for next year! And thank you to the grounds crew!
