Enough already! Last evening I returned to Friday Harbor, only to be greeted by the large “Noel” sign, high on a corner at the foot of Spring Street. “Wait a minute!” I thought. “This is our time to celebrate the 20th Community Thanksgiving Dinner on this island, and here is this large sign greeting us for Christmas.” We seem to have lost our priorities; this is too early. It looks to be a lovely new sign. However, I believe we are pushing ourselves too much and too soon. Let’s wait until after Thanksgiving for the Christmas season.
