It’s a “Hard Days Night” of classic rock at the San Juan Community Theatre, tonight at 8, when Abbey Road Live! performs on the Whittier stage.

Not your typical Beatles cover band full of mop-top haircuts and Rickenbacker guitars, these all-star musicians from the famous Athens, Ga., music scene showcase the more mature and complex Beatles materials in a raw and spirited fashion.

Formed in 2002, initially as a tribute to the monumental “Abbey Road” album, the band has expanded its scope to include more than 100 Beatles tunes from all eras of the Fab Four’s career.

The band specializes in complete, start-to-finish album performances of masterpieces such as “Abbey Road,” “Magical Mystery Tour” and “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Heart’s Club Band.” And since the Beatles stopped touring in 1966, many of these songs were never performed live by the Beatles themselves.

The business partner for the evening is GallerieHare Photography by Bob Stavers. Tickets are $26 for adults, $13 for student reserved, with $5 student RUSH one hour before the show if there are still seats available. The Box Office is open Tuesdays through Fridays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Or tickets may be purchased online at www.sjctheatre.org.
