After 26 years of performances, you might think that you know the music of Chamber Music San Juans like the back of your hand.

Well, think again.

Here's what artistic director and clarinetist Patricia Kostek has to say about the group's upcoming performance, the kick off to its 27th season, Saturday, Sept. 8, at San Juan Community Theatre.

"(It) just might be the most diverse and delightfully appealing program…" in the chamber's long history of performances on the theatre's Whittier stage.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m., and features familiar Pacific Northwest and internationally acclaimed musicians, including San Juan Island's own Sasha von Dassow, cellist, and guitarist Alexander Dunn.

Completing the roster of musicians will be Rowena Hammill, cello; Artur Girsky and Natasha Bazhanov, violin; Julie Whitton, viola.

“This is not only an opportunity to hear music that is beautiful to the ear, heartfelt and ethnically joyful,” Kostek said, “but also an opportunity to hear it performed by inspiring musicians who love what they do and who enjoy sharing their music with the San Juan island audience.”

The Business Partner for this performance is Managed Reliability.

Tickets are $26 for adults, $13 student reserved, $5 student RUSH at the door. An anonymous donor has provided for free tickets to anyone needing financial assistance to attend a Theatre event.
