Taste buds not doubt will be trembling as six of Friday Harbor’s finest chefs go square in Brickworks Harvest Chili Cook Off, Saturday, Oct. 6.

It’s a head-to-head competition to see which of the six can conjure up the best chili, made from local foods, and gets under way directly after the close of the Fall Farm Parade, about 2 p.m.

Here’s the list of competitors, as provided: Cask & Schooner, Ernie’s Cafe, The Market Chef, Friday Harbor High School Food for Thought program, the Bluff Restaurant, Adam Stone and Pablito’s. A king, or queen, will be crowned.

The Brickworks beer and wine garden will be open in conjunction with the event, featuring live music as well.

The price of admission buys an ample amount of chili, cornbread, apple cider and dessert. Ticket are $15 adults; $8 chidden under 12.
