The Soroptimists will hold its biggest, most important fund-raiser of the year, the St. Patrick’s Day Extravaganza, Saturday, March 17, at the Mullis Center.

All proceeds from this event support the service club’s many activities, which primarily benefit the island’s women and girls.

Doors open at 5 pm. The event features beverages, appetizers, live music and silent and live auction items. Tickets raffle items will be available for sale.

Dinner, catered by Vinny’s Ristorante, begins at 6 pm,  and features traditional corned beef and cabbage, or a vegetarian entrée.

After dinner, Farhad Ghatan (one of three male Soroptimists in the local club) will preside over the live auction, which includes a week’s stay at an oceanfront condo on Kauai.

Seating is limited. Tickets can be purchased at the Toy Box or Spa d’Bune, or from any Soroptimist;  $20 for adults, $15 for seniors (65-plus), and $10 for children (10 and under).

To-go dinner is also available; $12 each. Take-out dinners must be picked up between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. For info, 378-7232  or 298-0458.
