Battlefield Band named “Scottish Folk Band of the Year”

Battlefield Band, San Juan’s favorite Celtic group, was recognized as “Scottish Folk Band of the Year” at the 2011 Scots Traditional Music Awards.

The band was awarded “Best Live Act” at the inaugural awards ceremony in 2003.

“The band, and our management team, would like to give our sincere thanks and dedicate the award not only to our audience, but also to the many musicians, agents, promoters and venues we have worked with over the years,” said Alasdair White, the band’s fiddler. “Without these people we would not have had the privilege of finding an audience.”

Votes for this award came in from all over the world, and the band looks forward to thanking their fans personally during upcoming tours. The Battlefield Band will be on tour in Germany, Switzerland and France during January and February, followed by Australia, and hopefully New Zealand in March and April, before a U.S. tour towards the end of the year.
