Auditions for San Juan Community Theatre’s production of the Pulitzer prize-winning play “Proof,” are scheduled for Monday, Dec. 5, 7 p.m. at the PARC building at 70 Saltspring Drive off Beaverton Valley Road.
Director Merritt Olsen is casting two men and two women for David Auburn’s drama, which also won a Tony for “Best Play.” The story centers on Catherine, a troubled young woman (mid-20s), who has spent years caring for her brilliant, but unstable father (45-55), a famous mathematician. Now, following his death, she must deal with her own volatile emotions; the arrival of her sister, Claire (30-40); and Hal (25-35), a former student of her father's who hopes to find valuable work in the 103 notebooks that her father left behind.
Scripts are available with a $10 deposit at the SJCT box office. The box office is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call 378-3210 for more info.
“Proof” will be presented in the Whittier Theatre Feb. 23 to March 3.
