The Island Sinfonia, a chamber orchestra, performs on Friday Harbor this month for the 2011 annual spring inter-island concert. This season’s concert tour began on Shaw, then Lopez, then Orcas and finally San Juan Island.

The orchestra, which debuted over 20 years ago on Shaw Island, is one of the oldest musical performance groups in San Juan County.

This year Orcas middle and high school students including flutist, Kailley Granthan and violinists, Mackie Blackburn and Sasha Hagen join the orchestra. You will also get to see Sinfonia’s new conductor, Ned Griffin, in action.

To hear pieces by Debussy, Bach, Hayden and more come to St. David Episcopal Church at 3 p.m. on May 15. The concert is free and welcome to all ages.
