A benefit dinner is scheduled today at 5 p.m. in the Roche Harbor Pavilion for Friday Harbor High School teacher, Greg Sawyer.

Sawyer is preparing for a kidney transplant.

Dinner is $10 for children and students, $15 for adults.

To purchase tickets or donate an item for the drawing or silent auction, contact Hannah Waite, 298-0579, hannah.waite@hotmail.com; Genevieve Iverson 378-4653, genevieveiverson@gmail.com; or Catherine Bevens 378-5023, or bevs2010@hotmail.com.

“This chance to help Greg Sawyer is my way of giving back a little of what was given to my family in 2001 when we went through the same challenges Greg faces today,” Hannah wrote.

“My grandmother donated a kidney to my dad, Gordy Waite, because he needed a transplant. The amazing support we received from our family, friends and this community helped us get through this experience smoothly.”
