This profile is part of a series of profiles of Relay for Life team captains and other volunteers.

Name: Christine Gabler and Chris Hallock.

Involvement: Co-chairs, Relay for Life 2009.

Why we’re involved: My brother Chris and I relay to honor the life of our Mom, Carla. She was a beautiful soul and a terrific grandma. We miss her in our lives every day.

When we spend our time this summer at the track doing what we can to raise money and awareness, it will be easy to envision her cheering us on at the sidelines. We want to do what we can in this life to make a difference ... one lap at a time.

About Relay for Life: Relay for Life is July 25-26 on the Friday Harbor High School track and football field. The event raises money for the American Cancer Society. If you would like to become involved as a volunteer or donor, call Chris Hallock, 378-8237; or Christine Gabler, 378-8928.
