The opening of the Born Learning Trail at the Family Park in the San Juan County Fairgrounds will be joined with Island Rec's celebration of its 25th anniversary, Saturday, 10-11 a.m.

The interactive trail encourages children to learn through fun and meaningful activities. It is designed to give caregivers ways to interact with children that increase development. It also helps the caregivers understand how they can support early learning in everyday moments.

San Juan Island Library Director Laura Tretter, a member of the San Juan County Early Learning Consortium, states: "It has been shown time and time again how supporting early learning is one of the single most important things we can do as a community to guarantee our future.

"We hope to see everyone there."
