A kindergarten transitions program is open to all children who register to attend kindergarten at Friday Harbor Elementary School.

Kindergarten registration is scheduled for April 20-21 at the elementary school. The transitions program offers services and support for children and parents during the summer months prior to the first day of kindergarten.

The transition program is funded through United Way and San Juan Island Fanily Resource Center. It is offered at no cost.

Transitions facilitator Dona Ryba works one-on-one with children in their own home. Ryba develops an individualized program for each child based on his or her strengths and needs.

For information regarding kindergarten registration, contact Friday Harbor Elementary School at 378-5209. To sign up for the transitions program, call Joyce Sobel at the Family Resource Center, 378-5246.
