‘Find Joe Friday’ scavenger hunt Oct. 5 in F.H.
Sign up now for the Find Joe Friday Centennial Mystery Hunt.

Organizers compare the scavenger hunt to “The Amazing Race” and “Are You Smarter than a Fifth-Grader?”

Teams and families will scavenger hunt around the town of Friday Harbor. Discover intrigue and mystery, people, places and things you never knew — and need to know.

Celebrate the centennial in a unique way, get souvenirs, prizes, knowledge and exercise all in one.

The event is open to all ages. Signup fee is $5 per team by Sept. 26, $10 per team after. There is a maximum of five people per team.

The hunt is Oct. 5, 1-4 p.m., and starts in the Friday Harbor High School parking lot. Registration forms are available at Island Rec.

Day-of-event registration is noon to 12:45 p.m. at the high school parking lot.

Site to be chosen for Sept. 20 centennial photo
The Centennial Photo, in which all islanders are invited to participate, is scheduled for Sept. 20 at 9:30 a.m.

“We are still negotiating on a location,” coordinator Debbie Emery said Monday.

“It’s open to anybody on the island — the more the merrier. We’re going to encourage people to park away from the photo site, with a dropoff for older residents.”
