— Summer Reading Program with Mad Science: Bug Science, 1:30 p.m., Friday Harbor Elementary School field. Mad Science will explore bug science. — Sister Wives, 6-8 p.m., Port of Friday Harbor’s Jack Fairweather Park. All-girl blues band performs in Waterfront Concert Series.

Saturday, August 23
— Spoonshine, 9:30 p.m, Herb’s Tavern. Spoonshine has been creating and refining their handcrafted original music for nearly 10 years. Their brand of Americana combines vocal harmonies, mandolin, guitar, keys, fiddle, stand-up bass and assorted percussion.

— Teen End of Summer Make Your Own Ice Cream Party, 2 p.m., San Juan Island Library. The library has the recipe and the stuff. All you need to do is mix your own concoction and sample the tasty results! Free to all teens.
