The Friday Harbor Chapter of The Compassionate Friends will join in the Worldwide Candle Lighting, honoring our island children who have left too soon, in the conference room of Windermere Realty, 50 Spring Street, Sunday, Dec. 8, 7-8 p.m.

Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting unites family and friends around the globe in a hour-long, synchronized candle-lighting ceremony to honor the memories of the sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, and grandchildren who left too soon.

Believed to be the largest mass candle lighting on the globe, the 17th annual Worldwide Candle Lighting, a gift to the bereavement community from The Compassionate Friends, creates a virtual 24-hour wave of light as it moves from time zone to time zone.

There will be time for sharing and all are invited to bring a remembrance of their loved one, a photo, or meaningful memory token.

Candles will be provided and refreshments served. Islanders that cannot or prefer not to attend are invited to light candles in their homes to commemorate the event.
