Cinema comes to Sunken Park

The cozy confines of Friday Harbor’s Sunken Park will transform into an open-air cinema on four successive Saturdays, beginning in September.

Presented by Island Rec and sponsored by its support group, Family and Neighbors Support (FANS), the four-part Saturday movie series gets under way Sept. 7, with an airing of the classic romantic-comedy fairytale “The Princess Bride”. The series continues over the following three Saturdays, featuring: “The Incredibles”, Sept. 14, “Waking Ned Devine”, Sept. 21, and “Grease”, Sept. 28.

Movies begin at dusk, preceded by games and contests. Popcorn and refreshments will be available at FANS snack booth. Pets and alcohol are prohibited. For more info, call 378-4953, or visit www.islandrec.org.
