Hilda Brooks Barnett, 84, most recently from Syracuse, Utah, died Sunday, Aug. 4 of renal cancer.

Hilda was born Jan. 22, 1929 in St George, Utah to Frederick and Levinah (Allen) Brooks, and was raised in La Verkin, Utah.

She spent most of her adult life in Washington state. She and her husband Bill owned the Friday Harbor Bakery in the 1970s and ‘80s

A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, family was the most important thing in Hilda’s life. Hilda married William O. Barnett on April 15, 1947. They enjoyed over 66 years together. Hilda and Bill adopted seven children, four boys and three girls. Hilda also had 21 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
