A look back: Friday Harbor celebrates the 4th of July | Slideshow

The theme of the 2013 Friday Harbor Independence Day parade, organized by Lin and Pam Pearson, and sponsored by San Juan Island Chamber of Commerce, is “The Fabulous Fifties”. And the winners are:

Best theme float: M*A*S*H* unit, by Friday Harbor American Legion and Legion Auxiliary.

Judges Choice: Cutthroat Pirates & The Kraken.

— Best ‘50s car: Barbara and Hank Snider, 1954 Jaquar.

Best theme, non-float: Islanders Bank.

Best off-island entry: Canoe Island French Camp.

Best Costume: Daughters of American Revolution.

Best Animal in Costume: Friday Harbor Whale Museum.
