Friday Harbor picked 5th best state high school by U.S. News & World Report

Friday Harbor High School has again achieved a US News & World Report Gold Medal, ranking as the 5th highest performing high school in Washington.

San Juan Island School District announced the school was ranked number 5 of 587 high schools in Washington state, and number 161 of the nation’s 21,035 high schools.

“To be recognized again by U.S. News is quite an honor,” said Principal Fred Woods, “It is a tribute to the efforts of everyone in our district. We have great teachers, dedicated students and a very supportive community.”

US News ranks colleges, graduate schools, online programs and high schools using statistical analyses that includes performance on state assessments and in Advanced Placement programs.

In the U.S. News 2013 rankings, there are 10 Washington schools with gold medals, 45 with silver medals and 67 with bronze medals. More details can be found at www.usnews.com/best-high-schools.
