Bead Party benefit offers Ugandan women a helping hand

You can help eradicate poverty and also find a holiday gift at a "Bead Party" hosted by Theresa Morrow, Wednesday, Nov. 28, in the conference room of Islanders Bank Friday Harbor branch, from 1-4 p.m.

Proceeds from the "BeadforLife" bead party will benefit impoverished women in Uganda, who learn to make beautiful jewelry out of beads made from recycled paper in the BeadforLife program.

The beads are then sold worldwide, with money generated by sale of the beads helping Ugandan women to create business opportunities, pay for school fees for their children and to obtain housing.
