Mary McFadden, passed away Nov. 14, 2012 in Bellingham, Wash.

She was born Jan. 5, 1933 to Jacob and Katherine Augster in Sacramento, Calif, where she resided until she met her husband Paul V. McFadden while working at McClellan Air Force Base. They married Aug. 14, 1954 and moved to Seattle.

Both Paul and Mary were very active in the Catholic Church and their journey with God led them first to Bellingham, where they both were members of Assumption Catholic Church for approximately 10 years, and then to Friday Harbor where they became Eucharistic ministers and active members of Saint Francis Parish.

Mary's passions were her faith, her family and her crafts. She was a world traveler, enjoying new cultures and experiences. She valued spending time with her family, camping, and playing bingo and card games. She also enjoyed crafting, crocheting, and adding salt and pepper shakers to her collection of nearly 800 sets.

She is survived by sisters Joan and Kay of California; her children, Kevin (Julie) McFadden, Karen (Steve) Van Etten, Kathy McFadden, Ken McFadden, Keith (Charmaine) McFadden, Kurt (Suzie) McFadden, Paul (Debbie) McFadden, Kariann (Brian Sr.) Kerntke, and Tom (Elise) McFadden; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years Paul, infant son Kerry, and brother Jack.
