Journey back in county park walk

October 16, 2012 · Updated 3:00 PM

The history of the San Juan County Park will be in the spotlight in the finale of the 2012 Know Your Island Walk series.

Featured as part of the 1-mile walk will be the newly restored Brann Cabin, believed to be the island’s only homestead cabin on public land still in its original location. The walk, rated easy by the San Juan Island Trails Committee, sponsor of the KYIW series, will be led by Dona Wuthnow, director of the county Parks.

The 3-hour tour of the park begins at 1 p.m., rain or shine. Meet at the county park office on Westside Road. Dogs on leashes are permitted. For info, www.sanjuanislandtrails.org.
