Runnin’ with the pack, 5K for all

Here’s a bit of outdoor exercise the whole family can enjoy… the family dog too.

Island Rec’s Run, Walk, Wag 5K is Sunday, Sept. 30, at Roche Harbor Resort. Though billed as a “race”, participants can walk or run the 3.1-mile course, either with the family dog, or not. Prizes will be awarded to top finishers in various dog-size categories, as well as for best costume. Dogs must be on a non-retractable leash, 6-foot maximum, and should be well-socialized.

The event begins at noon, at near the resort pool area. Race-day registration is 11 a.m. to  11:30 a.m., or register online at www.islandrec.org. Fee is $15 per person or $20 for families. Info., 378-4953.
