The seas are bound to swell as Week No. 9 winner Marty Chevalier, Jr. and the rest of the pack go for broke in the final weekend of the 8th Annual Frank Memorial Blackmouth Fishing Derby.

Chevalier, who took home last week's weekly prize, $50, and scaled the ladder to land in third place with an 18.59-pounder, trails Marty Chevalier, Sr., by less than a pound, and Geno James remains on top of the leader board thanks to the 22.5-pounder landed in Week 7. Karen Rhinehart lead the ladies' division and Race Rousar heads into the final week atop the youth division.

The final weigh-in of the 10-week-long annual fishing derby, a fundraiser for San Juan Island Emergency Medical Services, is Sunday, 3 p.m. Winners will be announced and prizes handed out, along with a raffle drawing, at the derby's award ceremony, beginning at 5 p.m., at Hailey's Bait Shop & Grill.

Founded in honor of former EMS Chief Frank Wilson, the derby runs Feb. 1 through April 15. Prizes are awarded for: 1st Place — $1,000, 2nd Place — $500, 3rd Place — $250, Mystery Fish - $1,000; ladies and youth division winners, as well as for each week's biggest fish.
