Mary Leona Lewis, 60, of Snohomish passed away March 16, 2012 as a result of a hard fought cancer battle. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends at her home in Snohomish, Wash.

She was born May 10, 1951, in Colorado to Leo Butt and Mary Jo Forbus. She graduated from Snohomish High School in 1969 and married Howard Lewis later that year on Oct. 25. Mary was an active member of the Snohomish Faith Assembly Church, a Billy Graham Chaplin, and a Hospice volunteer.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends at the family cabin. Among her greatest joys was being a grandma to her three grandkids.

Mary is survived by her husband, Howard Lewis; mother, Mary Jo Forbus, brother, Allen Forbus, daughter, Heather Lewis, son and spouse, Kevin and Amy Lewis, and three grandchildren; Isaac, Gwyneth and Connor Lewis. She was preceded in death by her father, Leo Butt and sister, Cheryl Butt.

A memorial service will be held Friday, March 23, 2012, at 11 a.m., at the Snohomish Faith Assembly Church, 1220 22nd Street, Snohomish, Wash. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to Providence Hospice Home Care.
