January 31, 2012 · Updated 10:24 AM

Students in grades four and five can enter the 2012 Kids’ Art Contest no later than April 16.. The winning artwork will be featured in the Washington State Voters’ Pamphlet for the 2012 General Election. Last year, 3.5 million copies were distributed statewide. The winning artist will also receive a surprise visit from Secretary of State Sam Reed at his or her school.

The theme for this year is “If I Could Vote.” This art contest is an opportunity for Washington’s youngest citizens to be a part of elections and think about what they would value as voters.
