Eight developed lots just off Grover Street and Corliss Court have been recently purchased by Homes for Islanders.

These lots, similar in size to Homes for Islander’s current development lots just off Lampard Road, are for very low to low income individuals and families on San Juan Island.

Homes for Islanders is a nonprofit that assists limited income families interested “self-help construction,” which means that the majority of labor to build each home is provided by the home owner.

This program is for people who cannot afford a significant down payment or large monthly mortgage payments.

Construction for the new lots will start in 2012 or early 2013.
