Kathleen Kaska will tell you how to write mysteries on Saturday, Oct. 8, 7 p.m. at the library.

Kaska is the author of the “Sydney Lockhart” mystery series. Her first mystery “Murder at the Arlington,” won the 2008 Salvo Press Mystery Novel Award and her books have been listed as bonus books for the Pulpwood Queen Group Book, the largest book group in the county.

Kaska has also published mystery-trivia books on Agatha Christie, Alfred Hitchcock, and Sherlock Holmes.

Her work has appeared in Texas Highways, Cape Cod Life, Home Cooking, and Marco Polo magazines.  From 1997 to 2002, she was a staff writer for AustinFit magazine.

And now she is coming to San Juan Island.
