‘The Bean’ opens at Friday Harbor Center | Business Briefs

Gordy and Lori Petersen, owners of Friday Harbor Center at Spring and First streets, have opened The Bean coffee shop.

The Bean is the successor of The Naked Bean, and features an entirely remodeled interior.

“We have done it again. We have opened another business during a depression, in the winter, with all the chips stacked against us,” the Petersens wrote in an e-mail. “Who would have thought that another café in downtown Friday Harbor had a snowball’s chance? We did. And it is going far better than we thought it would.”

The Bean can be found on Facebook.
