Dr. Sonja Webster-Hills is the new owner of Islands Veterinary Clinic
Dr. Sonja C. Webster-Hills, DVM, is the new owner and veterinarian at Islands Veterinary Clinic in Friday Harbor.
Webster-Hills bought the clinic in August from Dr. James Lehocky. The terms were not disclosed.
Webster-Hills said she looks forward to “supporting the community and their pets.” Staying on are current staff members, Jill Danby, LVT; and Traci Walter, veterinary assistant.
Webster-Hills is a 1992 graduate of the School of Veterinary Medicine at University of California, Davis. She performed her undergraduate work in Animal Science at California State Polytech-nic University, Pomona.
Following graduation, she focused on small-animal medicine, surgery and emergency care. Her experience includes working in eight- to 10-doctor animal hospitals in Elk Grove, Calif., and Issaquah. Additionally, she practiced as relief veterinarian in more than 20 smaller clinics across Western Washington.
Webster-Hills’ special interests include comprehensive preventative care for all life stages, management of complicated geriatric conditions, and abdominal ultrasound.
Her future plans for the clinic include the addition of dental X-ray and ultrasound equipment, further improving “the already outstanding level of diagnostics and treatment options offered at IVC,” she said.
Webster-Hills and her husband, Andy, have been married for 19 years. They have three sons: Eliot, 18; Kyle, 14; and Sean, 12. The family lived in Issaquah for the past 11 years.
The family’s pets include Lizzy, a 5-year-old female Pug; Jazzy, a 9-year-old male Pug; Rainey, aka “Kitten,” a 10-month-old female tabby; and Princess Fiona, a 7-year-old female cat.
Eliot is a freshman at Washington State University, Kyle is a ninth-grader at Friday Harbor High School and Sean is a seventh-grader at Friday Harbor Middle School.
