SJ architect earns post-disaster safety certificate

San Juan Island architect Michael Tranfo has been certified as a safety assessment evaluator in Washington state, California and nationally, as well.

The Safety Assessment Program, in association with Architects Without Borders and the American Institute of Architects National Disaster Response Advisory Group, provides professional resources to local governments to help with safety evaluations of buildings and infrastructure in the event of a disaster. Assessment evaluators perform safety evaluations in the field following a disaster.

Tranfo, a renowned local architect, has designed award-winning buildings over the course of a 30-plus year career.
