June 30, 2011 · 4:41 PM
You can add San Juan Island Distillery to your list of "to do" options for the upcoming holiday weekend.
The distillery, located on the waterfront of Westcott Bay and a stone's throw from Roche Harbor Resort, and the birthplace of Westcott Bay Cider, will be open for tours and free tastings Friday through Monday, from 3 to 5 p.m., over the holiday weekend.
Chat with the owners, sample the distillery's hard cider, or its botanical-infused gin and apple Eau de Vie, or grab a taste of its various other award-winning concoctions. The distillery, which began full-scale production in late January, is one of 32 "craft" distillery's in Washington state.
