State protects clean water

The state's ongoing investments to protect clean water continue as $109 million in financial assistance heads toward 54 high-priority projects across Washington to protect the health of lakes, rivers, streams, marine waters, and the groundwater we drink.

Come Play Summer Bingo with Soroptimists

Bingo comes back to Friday Harbor! On both Saturday, June 25 and July 2 Soroptimist International of Friday Harbor again will hold Bingo at the Mullis Center. Doors open at 1:30 PM and play will begin at 2 PM. The games will be sponsored by Friday Harbor Electric and by Vacation Doorways.

Good Stewards Awards

Each year the Stewardship Network of the San Juans presents Good Steward Awards to individuals and/or organizations that merit recognition for exemplary work as stewards of the natural resources of the islands and the Salish Sea.

October Farms sold

The San Juan County Council approved the sale of the 30 acre October Farms property. October Farms was part of the the 313 acre Zylstra lake property in the San Juan Valley that the county purchased at the end of last year. The property sold for $825,000 to a private buyer, which was agreed upon on March 8 2016.
